Meet Ashley

Ashley Lata is a Kansas City based artist living and working Prairie Village, KS. After earning her degree in Special Education from The University of Kansas, she spent several years teaching Early Childhood Special Education in Kansas City and North Carolina.

Although paining has always been central to her life, it wasn’t until 2020 that she returned to painting after a long hiatus. What began as a creative outlet during COVID, gradually turned into a budding art career.

Ashley’s work explores the relationship between colors, shapes and space. Drawing inspiration from the natural world, she relies heavily on her intuitiveness — building layered compositions rich in movement and texture. Her process embraces spontaneity, allowing each piece to unfold organically.

She has been featured in Mission Hills Lifestyle Magazine, Portfolio Kitchen & Home, and she currently serves on the Prairie Village Art Council.

When she’s not painting, Ashley enjoys traveling, playing tennis and spending time with her family.
